This is my final major project. Hope you like it.
In this post I will look into what makes a person unique from the rest of us. What shapes a human and what affects one’s behaviour. To do that I looked at several articles about Nature Nurture (Sources provided below). Nature being the genes you are born with and Nurture being the parent that raised you and the environment you lived in.
In history sometimes this debate has been used for political purposes and other times for discrimination against race or certain groups.
For decades scientists have debated which has more influence than the other. Answer is that both have parts when it comes to what shapes person personality. Some Scientists believe that one’s personality is already decided by birth due to our genes while others believe that person’s personality is shaped by the way we were raised from our parents and also by the environment we lived in. John B. Watson believed that any child can be raised to become anything as long it is raised in specific way. This view is called Empiricism. It is the believing that the human mind at birth is blank and the way that a child is raised (nurture) and the environment it lived in is the product of one’s personality and how we shape as people.
I believe that both have strong part in one’s personality. While Genetics and DNA (Nature) play main role in how we look, also because of that role it can form one’s personality, because humans are self-conscious it can affect the way you talk to people and also it can affect your choices in life. They are many examples of people doing something to impress others or exactly the opposite, don’t do anything because they are self-conscious and don’t want to be judged by others.
On the other hand the way a person is raised (Nurture) also affects how one seems himself. It is shown that most of the times shy people have been raised in environment where they weren’t able to express themselves freely which leads to uncertainty in one’s self confidence to raise an opinion or voice.
But as always there have been exceptions and thats what makes it so hard to fine the exact formula of how one’s personality is being formed. So in the end both Nature and Nurture play part of person’s life, his decisions and personality. To which I ask the question:
How would you define yourself and the choices you have made and how did they made you as a person?

I created a map using adobe illustrator which serves as a base for most of my task for my project:

First, I needed to create a p with 5 hotspots. I chose to show 5 educational facilities in Kingston as my hotspots. After everything was done I created my map leaflet.
After making my map leaflet I started to work on the next task which was an interactive map by using Adobe Animate.
You can see it in the following Link:

The third task was to create a phone app I used Adobe XD.
The app shows all the locations and opening will give you information about the place.
You can see it on the following Link:
And the final task was to create Kiosk for the map. By using Adobe Illustrator and its effects I was able to illustrate how a kiosk for my map will look like:

I used robot given by my teacher Kieran to create lighting around him.

By using Maya lighting options I have set 3 different lights to create this.
After the lights have been set on the positions and adjusted I rendered Arnold the Robot with Arnold Renderer.
Interactive Media is Anything digital that the user can interact with. For example facebook is interactive as it lets you talk with friends, view posts, check videos, shares pictures etc. Anything thats digitally interactive is interactive media. Even your phone is interactive media.

Here is a screenshot from my phone unlocked.
As you can see anything thats digital and able to interact with is digital media.
Few examples can be:
Tickets Machines and ATM’s with their interfaces.
Videos games as everything is inside the computer.
Everything you do on the computer is digital and 90% of the time interactive. As technology progresses almost every service moves digital thus making becoming interactive media. A lot of supermarkets have delivery options if you are too busy by simply going to their website, purchase the groceries, pay them online and wait until they are delivered.

Video Games are one of the biggest interactive media entertainment industry in the world. Video games started gaining popularity around 80’s and hasn’t stopped since. As technology developed games also became better looking with better gameplay.
For example the DOOM video games series. This is their first release at 1993:
And only after 23 years this is what the latest release looks like:

Because of the interactivity of the games currently they biggest revenue as entertainment industry. Not even music or film industry come close to video games.
As you can see from the all examples Interactive Media is electronic service that a person can interact with. Given this it is safe to say that the current device you are using to read this is part of the interactive media.
When animating inanimate objects you give them characteristics of animals or humans simply said you personify them. After the choosing the object and what type of personality it will have you will need to choose how it will move or talk.
This Pixar short is perfect example of giving life to inanimate objects. As you can see the lamps are given characteristics of parent and child big Lamp parent and small lamp child. The small lamp as a child plays with the ball joyfully while the the big lamp their parent is watching over the small lamp.

Henry Beck is the person who created the map for the London Underground. Due its simplicity the map is easy to read without unnecessary information. The previous maps before Beck’s map were full of information which was getting in the way making it harder to read, while Beck’s map had only the lines of the trains without any addition information. Beck’s map also follow very strict rules for its mapping.

As you can see all line are straight or in 45 degrees angle. Following those rules makes the map easier to read without big overlapping of the names and lines. By having every line in different colour it helps for better map reading. Because of its simplicity it is easy and quick to find the destination you wanna go and the route to it.
This is a a scene from Lucky 13. In this is scene a drop off ship is being ambushed by 2 jet fighters. I’m using this video as a references for my spaceship animation as it shows brilliant usage of physics in 3D animation. In the video you can see how the ships fluidly are in the air and the impact of their movement alongside, which creates realism into the scene and animation helping the viewer to immerse into the action. The different camera shots are set to capture perfectly the action that is going on the scene and also help to understand what is happening into the scene.a
